Confessions of a Shopaholic

Struggling with her debilitating obsession with shopping and the sudden collapse of her income source, Rebecca Bloomwood unintentionally lands a job writing for a financial magazine after a drunken letter-mailing mix-up. Ironically writing about the very consumer caution of which she herself has not abided, Rebecca's innovative comparisons and unconventional metaphors for economics grants her critical acclaim, public success, and the admiration of her supportive boss Luke. But as she draws closer to her ultimate goal of writing for renowned fashion magazine Alette, she questions her true ambitions and must determine if overcoming her "shopaholic" condition will bring her real happiness.

My Thoughts:
Well i am a girl.. which girl would mind a bit more shopping, to be able to shop and shop and shop gives great satisfaction! The adrenaline that you get when you see that pretty dress, and shoes you imagine wearing to some event wowing the crowd...
You can't put a price tag to it..  After watching this show, i realised that my shopping addiction was minor in comparison.. haha, but it also made me realise that the appearance is just a sidekick to your inner personality..

It doesn't make a difference if you are wearing Prada, Gucci, LV or anything else if you suck as a person.. People may get deceived for awhile, but any person will see the truth after your sucky attitude show.

Lucky for Bloomwood, she realised it early and made a change... for good..

In conclusion, I want to be a good person, true to myself in GUCCI, PRADA, LV, CHANEL, etc, etc, etc.....

Marley & Me

The filmmakers behind THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA take on another bestseller in the family film MARLEY AND ME. Based on the hit memoir by John Grogan, MARLEY AND ME chronicles the relationship of John (Owen Wilson) and Jen (Jennifer Aniston) as they face the challenges of marriage and work to start a family.

By their side is their beloved dog, Marley, who can chew through drywall, got kicked out of obedience school, and never met a leg he didn't like. The cute pup's antics come to signify the unexpected challenges that everyone faces in adulthood, and the film is ultimately a paean to unconditional love; others may see Marley as the "world's worst dog," but throughout it all, he proves to be the couple's most faithful friend.

My Thoughts:
I do not have a dog myself, but i can totally relate to this movie.. Watching them in their relationship as it grows from just two of them to a whole family of 5 plus marley.
I cried at the part when Marley was sick and going to be put to sleep. Very touching, nd i love the kids love towards Marley.
Marley was more than just a Dog, it is family to them.

I now want to have my own Marley. Even if it tears my sofa, my wall paper, and eats a lot, and pulls down my curtains.......

Based on a the novels by Sophie Kinsella, CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC is a light and bubbly confection that should appeal to those who can identify with its heroine's passion.

Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher, WEDDING CRASHERS) has a label-filled wardrobe that any fashionista would covet, but she also has credit card debt to match. She craves a job at the Vogue-like Alette, but a position at a financial magazine at the same publishing company may be her ticket in. Despite her painfully low credit rating, Becky starts dishing out advice on saving, while debt collector Derek Smeath (character actor Robert Stanton) is hot on her Louboutin heels.

Meanwhile, she is competing for the affections of her charming boss, Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy, THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB), with icy Alette employee Alicia Billington (Leslie Bibb, IRON MAN). A well-heeled hybrid of SEX AND THE CITY and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, SHOPAHOLIC features the talents of Patricia Field, costume designer for those two films. The clothes are almost on an equal footing with the actors here, and each well-chosen piece in Manhattan shop windows or worn by Bloomwood helps contribute to the film's bright mood. A lesser actress might have been lost in all the colors, but Fisher is a formidable comic presence who pulls off Becky's ditzy lines and goofy falls with equal aplomb.

Those hoping for a smart discourse on the perils of credit cards and excess spending are certainly watching the wrong film, but SHOPAHOLIC may just be the fashion equivalent of food porn for dieters.

My thoughts:
Another girly show for the girlfriends to watch together. The boyfriends wouldnt want to let the girlfriends watch this show, just in case...

But nice, light hearted show, suitable for girls all ages.

Everybody craves of a bit if that lifestyle.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

On the day that Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, elderly Daisy Williams nee Fuller is on her deathbed in a New Orleans hospital. At her side is her adult daughter, Caroline. Daisy asks Caroline to read to her aloud the diary of Daisy's lifelong friend, Benjamin Button.

Benjamin's diary recounts his entire extraordinary life, the primary unusual aspect of which was his aging backwards, being born an old man who was diagnosed with several aged diseases at birth and thus given little chance of survival, but who does survive and gets younger with time.

Abandoned by his biological father, Thomas Button, after Benjamin's biological mother died in childbirth, Benjamin was raised by Queenie, a black woman and caregiver at a seniors home. Daisy's grandmother was a resident at that home, which is where she first met Benjamin.

Although separated through the years, Daisy and Benjamin remain in contact throughout their lives, reconnecting in their forties when in age they finally match up. Some of the revelations in Benjamin's diary are difficult for Caroline to read, especially as it relates to the time past this reconnection between Benjamin and Daisy, when Daisy gets older and Benjamin grows younger into his childhood years

My thoughts:
I love the make up effect of benjamin, and how the story unfolds with the dairy. Good watch. worth your time :) But it is kind of slow in the beginning, but as benjamin grows younger things become more exciting.

Slumdog Millionaire

The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"
But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions.
Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show?
When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. At the heart of its storytelling lies the question of how anyone comes to know the things they know about life and love.

My thoughts:
Nice show, loved the child jamal, very cute and innocent "AMITABH BACHCHAN!!!"
Some parts hilarious, but some parts very heavy. Through this show i could feel the seperation of the cast, and the heavy discrimination against the poor, and uneducated..

He's Just Not That Into You

A group of interconnected, Baltimore-based twenty- and thirtysomethings navigate their various relationships from the shallow end of the dating pool through the deep, murky waters of married life, trying to read the signs of the opposite sex--and hoping to be the exceptions to the "no-exceptions" rule.

Gigi just wants a man who says he'll call--and does--while Alex advises her to stop sitting by the phone. Beth wonders if she should call it off after years of committed singlehood with her boyfriend, Neil, but he doesn't think there's a single thing wrong with their unmarried life.

Janine's not sure if she can trust her husband, Ben, who can't quite trust himself around Anna.

Anna can't decide between the sexy married guy, or her straightforward, no-sparks standby, Conor, who can't get over the fact that he can't have her.

And Mary, who's found an entire network of loving, supportive men, just needs to find one who's straight.

My thoughts:
Great and strong cast, pretty guy and ladies.. this show is a girls night out show, not somthing that i think guys will like.. Go watch it with your gal pals, and have fun romancing..
